Special Customer Note

To Our Valued Customers…

All of us at Western Mass Compounding Center are deeply saddened and concerned with the fungal meningitis outbreak across our nation that has claimed numerous lives and made many others sick. It is suspected that the cause of the meningitis is a compounded steroid that became contaminated with a dangerous fungus. The steroid was made by a company called New England Compounding Center (NECC), a compounding facility in Framingham, MA. More than 13,000 patients were injected with the potentially tainted steroid as a pain treatment.

Just to be clear, our pharmacy has absolutely no relationship to NECC. It is important to make clear as well that NECC was operating as a manufacturer with a retail pharmacy license, by shipping very large batches of products out of state and with no individual prescriptions for these orders.

Every compounded medication at Western Mass Compounding Center is prepared pursuant to a physician's prescription for an individual patient. Our business is based on trust, honesty, openness, and strong interpersonal communication. Staying true to and upholding these qualities require us to address this public health care crisis and its relationship to compounding pharmacy.
All compounding pharmacies and pharmacists are required to operate under the oversight of a state board of pharmacy, the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Western Mass Compounding Center, Inc. has a perfect safety and performance record and our compounding facility meets or exceeds industry standards. It is our first priority to ensure the highest quality in pharmacy compounding through adherence to established principles, policies, safety standards, and State & Federal regulations.
